I have some pictures of the after-hike party in the KV Hostel to share, but no actual hiking photos... (My camera was in a dry bag and never left it).

hey, lots of cool bushwacks in the catskills, being more open than the whites or the ADKs, plus Hunter and Slide are on the 115 and can be done in a day. HuiYeng needs those too, maybe you two can come down there someday and knock those off. Hunter and Slide are actually 2 of the easier peaks to do, the harder ones are the ones NOT on the top of the list... In fact, one of the hardest ones is barely over 3500'

The whole Northeast is cool. Worth going everywhere if you're stuck in the area.

I might as well take advantage of living in Western MA and hike more in VT and NY while I'm still here.

or just the carspot for some day hikes.

Like I said, I'm hoping to do quite a bit of hiking in VT in the coming months. You interested? do you backpack at all?

I had fun but I was feeling a bit under the weather - I got a flu shot last week and came down with something on Friday. I was really disappointed that I had to miss her finish.

I bailed on the backpack. Mansfield was a last minute decision, like head North and decide during the drive. I got a late start anyway. Went up Sunset Ridge and down Maple Ridge. Really amazing day. Amazing hike. I'm going to hike more in VT/NY in the coming months so I'll let you know.

I hiked Mansfield yesterday. Awesome mountain! 2nd time I did it but last time (2003) it was all in the clouds. Nice day.

thanks for greenie and comments..to save drive we stayed on east side of mansfield but plan to do west soon....

I'll talk to her this weekend and maybe we can start planning a trip.

The only two that I've done so far are Baxter and Hamlin. I believe they're all pretty far so getting a group to carpool would be great.

Lucky 13 ? No prob on the 8 but I get so bored. Even with (dare I say it out loud) my iPod The 5 was pretty easy this morning but I was slower than usual.

Think she meant tackling but it would be fun to come up with other definitions.
