4/19 - Mass AT from CT border to Jug End

We will be starting from the west of the AT, just south of the MA/CT border. The AMC Mass Trail Guide describes it as "A pull-off is just south of a stone state boundary marker. From the pull-out an unmarked woods road travels east 1.0 mi to the AT". On the map that comes with the guide, this woods road is labeled 'Northwest Road' and it passes the AMC Northwest Cabin.

From that access road, we'll head into Sages Ravine, over Mt Race (2365'), Mt Everett (2602'), Mt Bushnell (1834') and Jug End to where we will have spotted cars on Jug End Rd. Total distance is 10.5 mi. Along the way we may take the small detours to visit Sages Ravine Campsite, Laurel Ridge Campsite, Hemlocks Shelter and Glen Brook Campsite.

Make sure to visit the old Bear Rock Falls campsite location - after Laurl, on the right side, in some shaded open woods. Keep walking towards the ridge and the creek - cross the creek before the falls and walk right a little to some nice views out from the ledge and a nice view down into the falls. It was an awesome camping spot!
