ADK region: campsites near North Trail to Giant/Hurricane area

I thought that I would tap into the board for this one - here's my dilemma - I'm doing some trailwork on the north trail to Giant next Saturday and I'm going to the 46er meeting the next day. Normally I would drive back to St. Regis falls and back to LP again, but with gas prices I was looking for a quiet place to rest my bones for the evening. After a hardy day of trailwork I'd like to find a place not too far off the beaten path...
