ADackR - I've climbed at the crag twice - did you know that the SLU property there is being sold? SLU is trying to sell both Snow Bowl and Cattamount. Theres a great deal of opposition from the students about the selling of snow bowl and also opposition from alumni....

Access to the crag wouldn't be effected, but we would loose access to the land. Totally sucks...

Saw them last night (11/9) from around 8:30 to 10ish. Nice greens that made the dark silhouette of Monadnock very erie. I just have to figure out my camera so I can take some shots of them and other heavenly pics.

A huge thanks for the heads-up. I've been dying to see them, and I'll be in the Whites tonight so I just may have my chance! :D

And speaking of Mars, beware the Mars Hoax. A rumor about the red planet continues to spread via email. The message claims that Mars will come so close to Earth on August 27th that it looks as big as the full Moon. In fact, Mars is approaching Earth for a close encounter in October--not August. October's close approach will indeed be beautiful, but Mars will never rival the Moon.

This is not just via email. It was printed in either Backpacker or Outside or some such magazine. If I get a chance I'll try to find where I read this in print.
