Crane Pond (ADK) access condition 4-27-05

Was thinking about heading into Crane pond (Pharoah Mtn from the North) this weekend (4/30) and was wondering about the road condition, and specifically the current water level on the last section of road just before the hill near Crane pond. Would appreciate any update on road condition. I assume it is snow free, perhaps muddy but passable. I have a Subaru wagon, but I don't think it floats. I've had to bail out there in the past during high water.

I don't know about Crane, but the southern approach to the Mill brook would not be doable in a Subaru as of last week. It was fun though in my Ford PU! FWIW, there were several groups that descended towards Crane from the summit last week. At least three cars worth. I would imagine the little bits of snow were washed away. I went at the end of the drought and there was still many patchs.
