Hello everyone,
What is the easiest way to climb Elephant, about how long does it take, and what kind of parking is available?

Thanks a bunch!

Robs

From South Arm Road, up Elephant Mountain Road to parking on the south side of the peak. Then it's 90 minutes up, 60 minutes down, 1150' vertical over 2.8 miles total.

That's if you get lucky and find the herd path, and are able to stay on it. There are some fearsome areas of thick balsam and slash. Don't fight your way through them - go around.

I would amplify what Audrey said. head straight up the skidder roads, and when you get to the top of the "headwall", don't head straight for the peak, go around towards the north and then west. If you go straight you not only will hit thick vegetation, you will also hit a cliffy area you don't want to be in.
