On Sunday November 26 I finished the list of the NE 115
on the Moosilauke after my very long and tough hike the
day before on Lafayette-Owls Head. At the beginning of
the year I never had tough of doing all of the peak in the
same year. On January 1, 2006 I was on my van in direction
of the high peak. 2 miles before the US borders of Lacolle
I turn around (to much traffic) on went for the night at the
nearest motel. After dinner I looked at a movie on TV name
''Vertical limits''. That movie was about a group of climber
attempting the K2 in pakistan that had lot of trouble in the
mountain, on 8 climbers on 1 survive. So I was very close
of going home (I was afraid).

The next morning I went in my van and past the US border
and went hiking. So I started by hiking Whiteface-Esther
and had no problem at all. The next day I went hiking and done
Wright-Algonquin-Iroqouis. The 3rd day I went hiking and done
Haystack on a very long day ( my first 12 hours day) in lots of snow and without my snowshoes.

So I continued hiking in the Daks and I decided to try the W46ers
in winter the day that I meet Harry K-Margaret-Nancy. On that
day on changing condition (rain, snow, ice, cold) we hike Grey-sky-
Marcy. After that day I went hiking in the Daks every weekend
from January 15 till April 8st and complete the W46ers on
March 19, 2006. On March 25 (day of the W46ers diners) I
went for my first attemp of Haystack-Marcy-Skylight-Algonquin.
I done the first 3 and don't went for Algonquin because I
had a dinner to go at 6:30 pm but I had the power and energy
to do it. At beginning of the winter I was very tired after one
summit!

At that time I was not thinking at trying to do all the NE 115.
The next week I went again hiking in the Daks and the week
after again. The last time I had lot of difficulty to get enough
motivation to start the day. So I decided that now I need to
go hiking somewhere else. So in April and May I went
hiking in the white and done lots of fun mtn. On June 3-4 I return
in the Daks for two days and try for the second time to hike in
the same day Algonquin-Skylight-Marcy-Haystack, like the last
time I done 3 of the 4. On june 17 I went with Jeremy and done
the Presidentiel traverse. On that day I hurt my left fet (ankel) but
I continued and complete the traverse in 15 tough hour on all of
the rocks. The next day I returned home and my left feet was in
bad shape. So I get some rest for 5 day and the next saturday I
was back hiking with my kids, and we summit Algonquin. My feet
was at about 75% and I used more my right feet than the left.
The week after to see I strong my feet was I went with my friend
Bob from Mtl and we done the Great Range in the Daks in a day hike.
We start at 6:30 at the garden and went very fast till Marcy (less than
4 hours). My feet start to be better but not at 100%. Two day after
we went in the white with our kids for one week of hiking and vacation.
We hike Washington with our kids and they where very proud of it.
Two week after I return hiking in the Daks for another attemp of the
Great range traverse solo. That time I started at the Garden and went
for Lower Wolf jaw first........till Basin. After Basin it rain very hard
and I decided to turn back at the Shorey short cut. The week after
I went hiking in the white and done the twin-bonds-Galahead in a long
day hike. I was close to be at 100%. The next day I went hiking on the
Tripyramid by the North slide. My most scaring hike of the year, but I
managed to get at the summit safely and went for Middle tripyramid to.
After posting a thread about my hike one guy give me the idea of
doing all the NE 115 in one year. At that time I had 68 peak done on
the list. So I decided to go for it.

In August I hike the 5 peak of the Green mtn with my kids. In September
I done all the 14 peaks in Maine in three weekend. On the weekend of
September 14-16 I went for to the Baxter State park and done the Brother
and Baxter-Hamelin. After that hike I had 88 peak. After that hike I drive
for 6 hours and went in the white. On the next day I done Moriah-Carter-
Wildcats in a long day hike. I was now at 94 peak and we where september
16. So I continued of going hiking most of the weekend (one solo and the
other with my kids).
And on November 26 I finished on the Moosilauke after one of my most
memorable day the day before on Lafayette-Owls head.

I had lots of great day and on other day the weather was very wet, icy,
muddy but went you had some great objective no matter what you went
hiking.

And now I had lots of plan of hiking in the North East.

that's a lot of peaks!

That's epic. I got dizzy just reading about it. How old are your kids? What are you going to do next?

That is an amazing accomplishment. Congratulations!

Don't ever stop.
:)

Congratulations Rejean ! I'm glad that I had the pleasure of hiking with you, however briefly , on the Tripyramids this summer. Truly an amazing feat and good luck in all your future hikes.

Congratulations on your timely accomplishment. It was nice meeting you at Tom R's ladybug weekend. Did you get the whole Fort group when in Baxter?

No I only done Coe and the Brother. On that day I had a late start
after driving 8 hours and the weather was not that good. I will get
them another day.

Well done Rejean! Very impressive. Glad I could meet and hike with you for a few of those peaks.

Thanks again Rik, for finding the trail for Couch-Santanoni
in March on that cold day.

Rejean. :) :)

Well, at that rate you could finish the 770 in 6 more years

You will either have to speed up or live a long time to get the 115x115 :)

Woohoo!

Congrats--quite an accomplishment!!

Your trip reports are always very enjoyable. :)
