Wright Trail from Bull Branch Road.
Trail conditions overall excellent for the first several miles. Fallen leaves, thick in places. Lots of frost-crystal-filled crunchy dirt but not enough to make things treacherous.
Crossings generally easy, a couple took a few minutes but were fine. Some rocks were covered in a (very visible) film of ice so you had to avoid those.
Not enough ice up high to warrant traction but there was definitely patchy ice to work around.
It's hunting season; I had some blaze orange on my pack but we saw no hunters or hikers. Lots of layers/winter stuff and a trekking pole were helpful but no other special stuff was needed.
Trail was easy to follow at night with a headlamp.
