Ham on the summit?

Here are some Hams I encountered on summit of Mt Equinox VT

Looks like they are trying to do some microwave long distance work.

Two groups go up to high points some distance apart (by prior arrangement). They typically use 2M (wavelength 2M, 144 MHz) to coordinate. (2M generally goes a lot farther than microwaves.)

* The microwave (wavelength .3--30cm, 1GHz--100GHz). antennas are the dishes mounted on tripods.
* The 2M antennas are then antennas mounted on the car-mounted masts.

My fave for "minimum wavelength" is still the guys who did gamma ray CW, probably fifteen years ago? Pretty short range, though.

(Ann--you've been an Extra for awhile to have a 1x2 in 1-land! Congrats! I need to take that last step at some point.)

Should we put together a VFTT Field Day team, preferably going for the emergency power and green power bonus points?
