Various Mt. Washington

Below the cabin on Tuck's Trail there was some good snow almost covering all rocks. Not enough for the snow cat to go up yet though.

The Shelburne Ski Trail had a good base of snow, but not yet enough for easy skiing not recommended to ski if you like your ski's or snow board.

Lion's Head Trail had plenty of snow on the lower section in the trees packed down on trail, but powder just off. Further up the ridge and above tree line there was the normal amount of winter snow. Only so much builds up because of wind. There was some fun post holing drifts that made going tuff on certain sections.

It snowed about 3-4 inches on Monday afternoon in Pinkham Notch.

That's a great site, Crooker! Now, how 'bout some anecdotal evidence from today & yesterday?

Could the Pemi be skied today? Is Zealand melting? How much of the Hancocks could be skied? It's pretty warm down here in Massachusetts!

60-65 degrees here on Long Island.....worms are squiggling around on the sidewalks...30 degrees above avg...lots of people are going to get sick in a few days when it drops back down again..

Spent the weekend in West Milan, NH, no snow on ground except plow drifts, rain most of Saturday with brief thunder. Highest peak was Morse in Northumberland at 1890', only occasional patches of snow up there. Rivers & streams very high.

Dirt roads quite spongy although one guy was reportedly going beyond Parmachenee Lake with 4wd to get to a place to snowmobile - lake itself still gated but supposedly you can reach peaks beyond.

Yesterday (Sunday) Crawford Notch (Rt 302) had nothing really in the valley...hiked up to Mt. Willard and there was about 3-4 inches of hard pack snow on the trail with icy patches in places and a light dusting of snow throughout the trail all the way up to the summit. Barebooted the whole time. I wore only two light fleece layers and it felt warm and and humid even! It was unbelievably unseasonable! Will we ever get a typical snowy winter this season?
