If you are up at the northern end the lake, float slowly and silently along the coast of Anthony's Nose.. hopefully the wind can take you and you can silently scull when necessary. Best if there are no boats and the water is still.
What I saw scurried away, and then got curious and studied me from crevices and under the roots of the fallen tree.
I am pretty sure it was a mink because it didn't have webbed feet or a solid tail. Actually, my first impression was that it was a pine marten.
