Heavy rain last night took care of the ice at elevation, but left the streams and rivers overfull.
Up the Frost Trail - we had to remove boots to cross the stream at the start because the step stones were a couple of inches under water. Steep slabs on Frost, Maple Ridge, and Wampahoofus were wet or running with water causing a slower than usual climb. All trails well-marked, no blowdowns.
After the climb to the forehead, we descended via the Wampahoofus and Butler Lodge Trails - much wetter than I've seen them before. Nice route to descend on.
With all the leaves gone, the sunlight warmed up the woods. Got some pics of a man flying a kite at the top. Twenty-three cars in the Stevensville lot when we returned in early afternoon. Great hazy vftt!
