trails: priscilla brook trail, bushwhack

conditions: there was room to pull to the side and park right at the start of the priscilla brook trail (abandoned and unmarked) off of ingerson road. the trail is just east of a "one lane bridge" sign. snow cover varied, but was generally quite light. the last storm seems to have passed by this area. no more than a few inches down low with some depths up to a foot higher up. a fair number of large blowdowns on the trail which we followed up until the point it used to cross the brook (old wooden arrow). we continued up the right side of the brook for a while before turning up towards the col between pliny and pliny minor. woods were open, but there was some significant blowdown. we continued up to the pliny side of the col then turned and headed directly up to the summit. on the descent we dropped to the col then up over pliny minor before heading directly back down to priscilla brook trail.

equipment: we used a mix of snowshoes and bareboots.

comments: good hike up pliny. nice bushwhacking in the open woods, will be even better with increased snow, and we got a couple limited views from pliny minor. a fair amount of moose sign. pretty cold, but little to no wind made for good hiking. thanks to jeremy and amy for a great hike.
