Trail Conditions: Trail is in great shape. Beautiful views from the top. Tower is closed.
Special Equipment Required: Super Heavy Duty Bug Repellant.
Comments: As I crossed the river, I was greeted by a nice group of dragonflies. A few even landed on me. I turned off the road in to the woods. I was accosted by a swarm of insects when I got to the register. I signed in and then ran back up to the road to lather up with DEET and put on a head net. I spent most of the hike trying to move faster then the bugs and hoping for a breeze. I can usually count on a breeze at the summit but not today. I stayed at the summit just long enough to take a picture and drink some water.
