In my knowledge of trademarks I think both TEAM SHERPAS can exists becuase they are representing different organizations which have very different goals.

Plus John can claim rights to the name TEAM SHERPA in the New England region.

I won't get into the boring (for most) legal analysis, but a lot depends on who was there first. Also, there is only one "Team Sherpa" from what I can see. The other is "Sherpa Higher Performance" or something like that. So there's at least some distinction between the marks as well as between the services.
