I volunteer to tabulate the responses when the answers tail off. Please tell us (or you can PM or e-mail me privately if you don't wish to make it public) which list(s) you've done, how long each took you (months and/or years) and your start and finish peaks for each.

Let's see if we have enough interest to gather a reasonable sample. I'll post a template in the first reply which you can quote and fill in for yourself. I'll answer the questions myself in the second reply.

Statistical Outlier

It looks like the replies so far reflect fairly quick times from start to finish. The replies have also been from hikers with multiple lists under their belts. Your statistics need an outlier like me:

WM4K: 27 years First: Passaconaway 1979 Last: Monroe 2006

And that's my only list. :)

I am really curious about any other hikers out there who have taken similarly long times from start to finish. Hikers who have kept good records of when each climb took place, never lost interest, and who kept plugging away at it, slowly but surely, with patience and resolve over many years. Like, RoySwkr, for instance, whose first to last time extends well over a decade.

WM4, 5 years, South Twin, West Bond
WM4w,5 years :)) presumed) Mousilauke,
NE67,7 years, Mansfield, West Bond
NEHH, 10 years, Mansfield, Chain of Ponds Snow
NE111, 20 years, Slide, West Bond
ADK46, 7 years, Marcy, Haystack
CAT35, 22 years and counting, Overlook

Many first list ascents occurred before I knew of lists...once I began peak bagging, the rounds fell within a year or two. In one instance a straggler finish peak lingered for 2 plus years.

I don't think I can count the number of times I've hiked Peekamoose and Table!!

Well, it depends on what statistic you precisely want. My first NH48 was in 2000, but if you count backwards from my NH48 finish until all 48 peaks are covered, that's in 2002. Since you specifically ask about the lists, I'm going with the latter data. It's a difference of exactly two years. Either way, the first peak I climbed was a NH4K, so I have the same starting date and peak for all the lists I've completed so far:

WM4,2yr 2mo,Lincoln,Moosilauke
NE67,3yr 2mo,Lincoln,Mansfield
NEHH,6yr 1mo,Lincoln,Boundary

It would be helpful to follow the format - since I can copy and paste into the DB directly. If you already are, then thank you :D This is very informal and will likely not be statistically solid or valid or anything ;)

Feel free to add the 52WAV and NEFF (Fifty Finest) as well - I already have those peaks in the database. I'll update the template reply #1.

Tim -

Do you have any interest in Brutus' stats? He did the WM48's in both seasons (several times, actually) but didn't complete any of the NE lists as Katahdin is inaccessible. He did a few of the ADK's, but not in the AMR due to the usual hassles.

Kevin

I can track dogs as well... Just make sure, if your dog isn't well-known (to me) that you mention that the stat is for a dog. For the record, I'm not going to tally anything until we get a pile more responses. I may go ask on the other boards and possibly on the FB groups too.

Stats for Brutus, the Newf (furry guy on the left):

WM4, 1 year, Moosilauke, Jefferson
WM4w, 3 years, Cabot, Pierce (Clinton)
WM4w - in One Winter Season (2004/2005) - 75 days, Cabot, Cannon
Most Climbed Peaks:
  1. Lafayette - 27
  2. Moosilauke - 20
  3. Mt Washington - 10

wm4, 25 years, Flume, Isolation

Gussie (Dog)

wm4, 4 years, Waumbek, South Kinsman

Terra

NH4K = 6 years, S Twin, Carrigan

Funny - about the first six peaks of my ADK/NH/NE/Northeast lists are all six plus years ago. Then I decided to finish the lists and blew through the remaining 109 peaks in about two years. :)

Peak bagging is a funny thing.

Are you interested in "rounds"?
