  • Please don't worry about Terra. Everything was fine.

Alex is not the youngest person, but she may be the youngest girl...not sure. Probably the youngest to include winter ascents.

Hope to see you again soon, it was great hanging out with you a bit at the party.
No problem! You two are an inspiration! Is Alex the youngest person to earn a NH4k patch?? I hope she isn't afraid of dogs now, sorry about Terra barking at her, I should have been more mindful of the situation -- plate of food, dog, cute little kid...
Thank you so much, Trish. :)

I'm really looking forward to joining you and Alex next week for the big finish. Let me know if you're still in need of someone to carry extra gear.
Yeah Taz was a "character" alright. Cancer finally got her, but she was a handful while alive. Thanks for the greenie.
Thank you so much! Would you care to join me on a loop once you're finished with the 48? :)
Well, no Owl's Head for Tuck and me today. Too much rain. I don't mind getting wet (the dog loves it, of course), but getting soaked is something else. Maybe on Tuesday next week.
Congrats to you and to Tuckerman! Alex and I are doing Owl's Head very soon after your own trip.

We should have on combined 48 finish party. Quite a few of us are finishing up the list this/next month!
August 22 you say? Tuckerman and I will make every effort to join you and Alex for the big finish -- whether it's on the Moose or Flume. What a day, and an accomplishment, for your family to celebrate!

I'm closing in on a 48 finish myself. Tuck and I will do Owl's Head tomorrow, and then all I've got left is a Bonds traverse to complete the full set, which we'll do sometime in the next two or three weeks, weather permitting. We might do a Franconia Ridge traverse first, though, for practice -- Tuckerman needs Lincoln, Liberty and Flume anyway. By Sept. 1, his 11-month birthday, he should have 16 or so peaks, and we're hoping for 20 by his first birthday on Oct. 1.

    Very best,
    /Steve
Thank you for the green spot, Trish. You are always generous, and I appreciate that very much. One thing I really look forward to after finally bagging the last of the 48 peaks (like Alex and you, I've got just five to go) is exploring more trails like the East Pond that don't necessarily lead to peaks but are beautiful and interesting in their own right.

Hope to see you and the family at another Beer & Vittles night soon or, even better, out on the trail.

    Very best,
    /Steve
Hey..it's nice to have a plan and glad to see that you do..what a nice accomplishment..i know that Ben looks forward to his hikes and likes talking about them afterwards more than the hike itself..he is, however, pretty proud of his achievements..wait til i tll him Alex has the Bonds....One of the best things about hiking with kids is passing along the adventure and power of the mountain peaks..good stuff..I remeber the first couple of peaks my dad got us up when i was 8 or so..baker, Peru, and Styles Peaks on the Long Trail..poured rain the whole time
