This is going to be great.

A new 350 foot bridge is going to be transported from Coeymans, just south of Albany, to NJ on Tuesday. They are using two barges and this thing is so big that it is going to restrict river traffic.

I have a plan to kayak camp Monday night on the river as close to the western channel as I can get. As the article states, you can get updated info from the Port of Coeymans website to find out projected times it will pass river towns.

Cool, don't forget your camera Trudy.. I'm in NH, but it would be cool.. try not to get squished!

You know what? I've seen that bridge it's on dry land supported by a bunch of concrete bunkers.. I was wondering what the hell is a bridge doing there on the shore.. I guess I know now!!

I might even have a picture of it..

This photo in the Daily Mail was much better than the ones I took. It was a dark morning.

Woke up to rain on the tent and the chug-chug-chug of tug engines and knew the bridge was coming, since shipping traffic on the river was otherwise restricted.

The bridge was massive, and looked like an awkward load. Fortunately the engineers had it all figured out.

Yup, that's the one. That must have been really cool to see the bridge, a great spot would be the new walkway over the hudson in Poughkeepsie...

Thanks for the story!!!
