This past weekend was the 46ers Women's Only Weekend. This year, we had a small but hard working crew: Bonnie, Connie, Denise, Jane, Julie, Julie, Pat, and Wanda. Most of the crew arrived Friday evening to the setup at Sharp Bridge campground for a bit of chit-chat before turning in early.
People started waking up at around 5:30, and by 6:30, everyone was up and full of life. At 7:30 we were at the trailhead to Crane Pond. Our task was to build a bridge over a small brook. It was less than half a mile hike to the work site, and the work started before 8:00 AM.
There was a small but hard working group of women. Many logs to be hauled, and they did it. They worked as a team.
After the work, we returned to the campground for a calorie rich supper.... fresh pasta drenched in a sauce made with 3/4 pound of butter, three cups of cheese, a pound of Gorgonzola cheese, as well as some other, less fattening items.
A couple of amusing things. At one time, Julie and Julie were at either end of a saw. Someone said to them, "Julie, the saw is a bit crooked. Lift your end up higher."
Another amusing thing can be seen in the cantdog picture, down about the middle of all of these:
