Our first time on this trail and what a wonderful walk on a blue bird day. Views of wintry Mt. Washington from summit fire tower stunning. But man, that new communications tower is a HUGE eyesore. OMG!
Trail in great shape and very clearly blazed. Only navigation challenge was locating the trail head! But the S NH Trail Guide provides excellent instructions (once you read it).
Many minor patches of ice on shady slabs easily bypassed. Traction not necessary, but adjacent mosses are taking a beating. Very little mud for April.
