Kinsman Ridge Trail had hard snow, and lots of it, from bottom to top. Today the surface was firm but it softened a bit on our descent, making for occasional post holes if one stepped off the rail. Section in the skiing glades had icy spots where traction was essential. No blowdowns.
We carried snowshoes but wore Microspike ST's all day.
Cloudless day, with Franconia Ridge etched into the sky across the notch. A relaxed and beautiful hike.
