Trails: Unknown Pond from Mill Brook Road; Kilkenny Ridge; side trail to Horn

Conditions: Fine; but with some mud, especially lower Unk. Pd. Trail. All trails could use a bit of brushing out. A few blowdowns on Unk. Pd. Tr., easy to step over. Bog bridges on Kilkenny Ridge Tr. are beginning to rot; but should probably still be functional for another season or two. We camped at Unk. Pond campsite, which seems to be in good shape.

Comments: Interesting backdoor route to the Pilot Range. Loved The Horn - what a nice mountain. No biting insects encountered all weekend! (Is this a strange summer, or what?)

Note: I saw no gate on Mill Brook Road, and thus was able to park along the roadside right at the Unknown Pond trailhead, with no roadwalk needed. (If you have an older guidebook, it mentions a roadwalk.)
