Anyone know the condition of Jefferson Notch, Drive-able with a front wheel drive car? The forest service says its open but, no conditions reported.. thanks..

I haven't been up there in a couple of weeks, but the untreated gravel roads here in the Conway area are very icy. I'm guessing JNR is in similar shape.

With the recent rains, beware of ice flows over gravel - Assuming it's open at all. It's a state road, subject to closure by the DOT, so the status on the FS web site tends to lag the actual open/closed status.

Notch road open unplowed.. Made it up and down in an Elantra. My hiking partner made it up and down in his Accent. Slippery though! use caution!!!

I was wrong. I will live to guess again. Good driving by you!
It was a holiday weekend and the road is a low priority to NH DOT. I expect it will be gated soon.
