This is a true story:
We were hiking a mountain early in our relationship (think late 70's) as we turned a corner a couple were decending towards us. The young lady had abandoned any clothing from the waist up. What we will always remember even more than the unexpected view, were her words: "This is what feedom is all about"
We have laughed about this encounter many times through the years as we changed into dry clothing on mountain tops.

One November, we were hiking towards Stark's Nest (at the top of Mad River Glen) to spend the night after finding Glen Ellen Lodge drafty and dirty. It was getting dark, and what should we see in the picture window but a naked guy. He disappeared when he saw us, and when we arrived, there was a young couple demurely sitting there. They said they were about to descend to the trailhead, darkness and ice-covered rocks notwithstanding.
We felt kind of bad that we had probably ruined their plans!
