Trail Conditions: XC ski trail (route 13, 14, 18, 27, 23, 28 to Birchcroft Tr.) was unbroken to Birchcroft with about 6", maybe less, of new fresh powder. Brooks generally open and a number of wet spots on the trail that were easily avoided.
Special Equipment Required: Light BC skis (Madshus Glittertinds) worked well but XC skis could have been used but would have offered less floation. Red special wax over blue (full length) provided excellent kick.
Comments: Pleasant New England woods ski tour. Surprisingly, only saw 3 other skiers (near Gilson Pond).
