14ers thread--actually started before the Post article, but people have a dim view of it there. There's a good blog post as well.
Heavy rains may have contributed; increased number of people; or there's just plain the problem of small number statistics; if the average number of deaths is 5, any particular year has a 5% chance of 10 or more.
