I'd like to know when the following roads will re-open if not allready open.

Tripoli road,Sawyer river road and Jefferson notch road.

Thanks to all !

The ways of the USFS are indeed mysterious but I don't think they'll be opening WMNF forest roads for at least several weeks, possibly as late as mid-May. For one, there's likely to be more snow at higher elevations. Many of the forest roads are still covered with snow and ice anyway. Those that aren't are mud sinks, and driving on them in soft conditions only makes them worse. You can think of them as "posted," as are most of the regular smaller paved state roads here now. Jeff Notch Road is not officially gated but take a look at the "Jeff Notch Road" thread on this forum to get an idea of conditions--and of prices for the Lowes's monster tow truck to suck out a vehicle from the mud. Looks like it's running about $750 these days.

Think Memorial Day

The gated raods are usually open for the Memorial Day holiday, but not a lot earlier

Usually open for Victoria Day three Day weekend the weekend before Memorial Day so that would be May 19th or 20th to allow for Friday hikers from the great white north. Some years open for Mother's Day weekend but that one is more iffy. Keep tabs on Mo's site (the link above)
