Thanks for the green square for the lenticular photograph. Funny thing was about that day up on the ridge was that I was enthralled by these clouds -- I'd never seen anything like them -- and my wife was pretty much non-plussed; she just wanted to keep on hiking off the ridge and get out of the wind.

The trail up to Dickey Notch is a mountain bike trail (Brown Ash Swamp Tr.) in the summer going from the Welch-Dickey lot all the way to Tripoli Rd. Very easy going snowshoe and pretty easy to follow to where I broke off it, although no blazes that I saw. Coulda been different had it been untracked. Nice open bushwack to the top of what I've dubbed, "Dickey Notch Peak." About 1700 ft. ASL.

I went back a few days ago to the top of the little peak and found a beautiful open ledge at the top. Well worth the extra bushwack. Nice views in all directions.
