This will be a "hike your own hike" as timing and pacing are critical. Standing around at the top reqires extra layers.
Important Note: This is not an organized event. If it were there would be pages of warnings and waivers. It is above treeline, in the winter, at night, and far from shelter. Conditions and visibility may be poor and may deteriorate rapidly. The return trip is downhill (more difficult to navigate in poor conditions.) As the signs say: "The area ahead has the worst weather in America. Many have died there from exposure even in the summer. Turn back now if the weather is bad."
