Oh, awesome ! There will be many Canadians on the crew then !!
Yeah, and some of them might even speak English. But, don't count on it. :D

At least they will all understand the language of Monsieur Hickey:

"WORK!"

I'll be heading out to Oregon for a couple weeks in August. Until then, I'll have to use $$ and vacation time a little conservatively. That's fine, because I always have so much to do close to home.

I'd like to complete spring and summer rounds of the Catskill 35.
I'd like to do a 25 mile traverse of the Shawangunk Ridge.
I'd like to cycle more and farther than I did last year. Probably no centuries yet, but maybe a few 50-milers.
Hopefully at least a little paddling if my wrists don't act up too much.
And of course it would be nice to get back to the Adirondacks and/or northern New England.

I also plan to lead a hike or two for the Catskill 3500 Club, steward the Overlook Mt. fire tower 2 or 3 days, and maybe do some trailwork.

Matt

I only have two things planned for this summer:
  1. Cerro Torre
  2. Magic Line on K2

Hoping to accomplish some of these things this year....

~ Finally get over to those Adirondacks for a 4K or two
~ Climb my first 14er in Colorado or California
~ Consider day-hiking Mt. Whitney
~ Backpack the West Rim in Zion
~ Stay @ 13 Falls
~ Help the UnfrozenCaveman burn all that wood in a couple weeks
~ Do something besides Mt. Katahdin in Baxter
~ Trail work on the Cohos Trail
~ Walk for Hunger & Jimmy Fund Walk in Boston
~ Finish the NH48 on Madison on a 70 degree weekday under sunny skies with low humidity and a 5-mph breeze :D
~ Convince more VFTTers to join Facebook
~ Most importantly, fully recover from my leg stress fracture that occurred last March that refuses to heal completely

Ptarmigan Ridge on Rainier in mid-June. A few long training hikes in the Adks., and maybe another marathon hike with the great crew from last year's summer solstice Great Range Traverse.

I will do the 4 summits to complete my ADK 46, I hope early this summer on Dix. :)
And during our summer vacation we should go in NH to climb summits.

I did my 4 summits and become 46er.
Now I am on vacation, I'd like to go in NH next week, but the weather does not look to good for next week. Maybe if it is not next week it will be the week after.

Laurie and I are planning:

VNBs New Hampshire with some 4Ks thrown in for fun!

VNBs CT ?

VNBs NJ.

A couple of Colorado 14R's. (Now there's a contrast!)

Leading some hikes for the Catskill 3500 Club.
4 out of 5! :D

Well that's it folks....how'd you do in 2008?

I didn't do too badly....

Completed my regular 46 last February on Haystack.
Watched Funky Freddy play his guitar in March.
Canoed the Raisin River Race in Ontario last April.
Did Trail work with the Adk Crew on the Dix trail in May.
Rode my 5th Rideau lakes tour from Ottawa to Kingston in June.
Walked in the Peak district and the Yorkshire dales in July.
Hiked in the Tatras in Slovakia in August including the highest peak in Poland Mt Rysy.

One thing I didn't make was to get back to the Whites this last summer! So that's one thing on the list for this year.

Whoa! Thread resurection!

Well, hmmmm...did The Devils Path as a one day traverse -- check!! (surprisingly as I believe it was my first or second hike of the season!)
Finished the ADK 46 on Haystack (nice of you to be there, too, Prino!)
Finished the NH48/NE67/NE115 on West Bond during a single day
Bonds Traverse (woot!).
Birthday on Katadhin -- check!!
Big old peakbagggin'/bushwackin' road trip through Maine with MJ and Terra -- check!

Some other notables of 2008..
Bought a house with MJ -- now that's a biggie! :D

I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Great Range Traverse; bursitis kept me down. Presi Traverse turned Presi Transverse; bad weather and puppy injury turned me back.

Thanks for floating this to the top....would be nice to hear some other's recaps of 2008~

Actually, there are plenty of "What happened in 2008" posts going on in The Year 2008 in Review thread. I need to add my own as soon as I get the math figured out...

Yes, sorry about that Tom and others. I was reminded of this thread while I was over on ADKhighpeaks answering the same question and resurected this before checking. I'm a naughty boy!!
