Astronomers stick their sensors on mirrors with, for example, a minimum FL of 16,764 mm f/3.3 to a max of 152,400 mm f/30. The mirror only weighs ~40 tons, comes in its own building, and sits on a mountain instead of a tripod...I'd like to see them strap the 1200mm f/5.6 L onto a 488mp body just for the sheer absurdity of it all. Unfortunately, I rather doubt it'll have an EF mount.
