I'm not Sherpa either, but Sherpa's last post on the issue was:

Yes, Bearly Live is 7/31-8/2 with little chance of moving the date:
7/19: Oxford/BankNorth 250 race weekend (no camping spots available, and a VERY rowdy crowd)
7/23-26: Gathering of the Vibes: Arm, Mike and I attend this festival (along with Bob, Shizzy, and a number of others)
8/16: This is usually Spencer's Summer Gathering.

So... since I have to take 2 weeks off to put this thing together, and we need musicians to play , it falls to 7/31-8/2.

Yeah

Steve-O is correct - it's July 31-Aug 1, 2

I believe Joe Farren, Funky Freddy & The Bluffs will provide some music

can't remember what the deal on campground is, check last year's thread

might not be as much premium on campground space as several folks apparently aer doing a gathering type deal in canadian Rockies that same time (maybe no Neil? :()

maybe Sherp can organize a yak on the Andro expedition this year - that would be my special request. Sherp?

pray for good weather

Thanks for the reminder Sabrina! Time for me to start getting organized again, lol :) The end of July is coming up fast!

Anyone interested in doing some NE HH peaks in Maine or NH the week after with Gail and I?

Campground space is a good question. Last year they wouldn't take not-a-full-week reservations until after June 1 or something silly like that, iirc.

ok, I AM Sherp and the dates are indeed 7/31-8/2. Assuming my body holds together, I will try to do an Andro kayak on Sunday around noon. Usually by Sunday I'm real beat, but since I'm job searching (Software QA specialist), I may have some extra time on my hands.:):(

The plan so far is:
Friday, 7/31: soft(er) music with Joe Farren/FunkyFreddy/Bluffs, and ?
Saturday, 8/1: Main event with heavy emphasis on "get off your a** and dance" tunes.
Sunday, 8/2: Hopefully an Andro paddle (definitely beginner friendly)
Anyone who wishes to "sponsor" other events (hiking, etc) should do so. I will start an official thread in the next few days.

We've been practicing, so hopefully won't let you down!

Campground status still the same: he's not exactly "Bearly Live" friendly. He will take weekend site rentals on 6/1. NOT mentioning "Bearly Live" might be prudent. The funny thing is that his campers LOVE the event!

Any questions, please eMail me.

PS. No need to leave on Sunday. I will be staying until at least Tuesday.

I won't be making Banff or Bearly Live this summer.

As a certain Beatle once wrote: Life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans.

I vote for trip to Goose Eye.

This will be my first time attending. As for hikes I vote for Goose Eye. Seems like it's pretty easy access from Bearly Live. Good HH highest peak I haven't done yet and reputed to have very fine views.

BoB will be paddling Saturday and Sunday if anybody else is interested.

Frank Booths Car making a special appearence??

I know the singer and bass player:)

Nice kick in the balls garage punk rock - nice to see some slam dancing at bearly live this year..:D
