that combines so many factors, planning, set-backs, crappy conditions, beautiful
days, great people, missed therapist meetings...

No idea, but a lot I’m sure. The ORC has 221,000 miles on it
tho, obviously not all hiking related. It gets 41 in the summer and 36 in the
winter.

This list took 5 Winters for me to complete. The first peak
was Saddleback in Maine and the last, of course was Hunter.

I aggressively pursued it the 2nd (07-08) and 3rd (08-09)
winters. Not so much on the others.

I found the ADK to be tougher than the Whites, but a lot of
that had to do with logistics of getting there and staying there.

The way I chose to do this list did not give me much
flexibility for choosing good days. I ended up with a lot of unbroken trail and
a lot of unfriendly weather at various points.

These peaks in this season meant a lot of different things
at different times. I'd say I got a pretty good spread.
*
My only advice for completing this list is if you carefully
time your hikes you should be able to lurk around on the hiking websites and
poach any track that a group so boastfully writes up. You'll get the w115 done and
never have to break an inch of trail. First person to do it gets the w115p.

I don't know if the 4K committee releases the names per se, but when I finished the 111 I rec'd a spiral book with the names of finishers, along with other info on each person. It was as much a labor of love as anything. However, the widow of the "founder" of the 111 club retired a year or so after I finished, so am not sure if the tradition continued.

Hmm ... 2 different things? I thought the question was getting a listing of 111 finishers.

I finished in 2001, so would have rec'd the booklet in 2002. IIRC, Priscilla Robertson took over the administrative tasks related to the 111'ers when her husband passed away. I remember at one awards ceremony she announced it would be her last year. But, what year that occurred I don't recall. Brutus came into my life after I finished my lists, and then he insisted on doing them also, so ... I ended up going for a few more rounds on his behalf. It may have been one of those Brutus-related ceremonies where the announcement was made.

Next time you're in Lincoln you might stop by the Mountain Wanderer. Sometimes Mike Dickerman is there, and he took over the administrative duties for the 111ers. If not, Steve Smith's also on the 4K committee, and he might know what's up with that booklet.

Personally, I think the booklet is/was a great tradition. But I can also understand the amount of work (and expense) of updating and printing it each year as well.

I, too was a 2001 finisher and received my "spiral" booklet from Priscilla at the 2002 ceremony.
After the all-season roster (417 at the time) there's a separate listing of 36 winter finishers.
Extrapolating, there may be fifty or more by now. Only guessing.
